Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 24 September 2026
Company: HANGARR LTD (“HANGARR”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in the United Kingdom.
These terms govern your use of the HANGARR website and apps, our second-hand fashion marketplace and clothing repair service (“Mending”). When you create an account or place an order, we ask you to agree to these terms. They apply whenever you list an item or request a service.
1. Who can use HANGARR
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You must give accurate, current information, keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us promptly if you believe somebody else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it resulted from our failure to keep the service secure.
2. HANGARR's role
HANGARR provides the platform, payment collection, shipping tools, and support. For an ordinary marketplace listing, the sale contract is between the buyer and the seller shown on the listing, not HANGARR. For Mending, the repair contract is between the customer and the repair partner whose quote the customer accepts. HANGARR remains responsible for the services it provides to you and for obligations the law places on an online platform.
A seller or repair partner may be acting as a private individual or as a trader. Statutory consumer rights may differ, but these terms never reduce rights that the law says cannot be excluded. Where a listing or service is supplied directly by HANGARR, we will say so.
3. Accounts, listings, and content
- You may operate one personal account unless we agree otherwise.
- Sellers must own each item, have the right to sell it, and describe its identity, condition, size, defects, and authenticity accurately.
- You must not list or submit counterfeit, stolen, illegal, unsafe, recalled, hazardous, or prohibited items, or content that infringes another person's rights.
- You grant HANGARR a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, resize, and display content you submit only as needed to operate, promote, and improve the service. You keep ownership of your content.
We may correct categories, remove content, refuse an item, or suspend a listing where reasonably necessary for safety, legality, accuracy, or enforcement of these terms.
4. Prices, fees, and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and the full amount payable, including mandatory fees and delivery, is shown before payment. Marketplace buyers pay the item price, the buyer protection fee, and delivery. The buyer protection fee is 3 to 7% of the item price plus 25p to 75p, depending on the price, and is shown before you pay. Any seller or Mending fee is shown or agreed before the relevant transaction. Payments are processed by Stripe Payments UK Ltd, which is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011. Card details go directly to Stripe; HANGARR does not see or store full card or bank details.
An order or booking is confirmed only when payment succeeds and HANGARR confirms it. We may cancel and refund a transaction where an item is unavailable, payment or fraud checks fail, a listing breaches these terms, or fulfilment cannot be completed.
5. Launch rewards, boosts, and purchase passes
Launch rewards. The first 500 people to publish a listing, or to invite someone who signs up through their referral link, get launch rewards. Places go in the order we record them and stop once all 500 are taken. Launch rewards are:
- 10 boosts each calendar month (UK time). A boost lifts one of your listings for 7 days, and each listing can have one live boost at a time. Unused boosts don't carry over.
- No buyer protection fee on marketplace orders you place.
Launch rewards last as long as your account stays open and you keep to these terms. However, for legal reasons we reserve the right to change or end them with at least 30 days' notice. A change won't affect an order already placed. Rewards have no cash value and can't be transferred.
Boosts. A boosted listing is shown higher in browse, category and search results while the boost lasts.
Purchase passes. Until buying opens to all buyers, you may need a purchase pass to buy. When someone signs up through your referral link, you each get one pass. A pass is used when the order it paid for is confirmed. It comes back to you if you leave checkout or the order is cancelled before dispatch. Unused passes expire when buying opens to all buyers. Passes have no cash value and can't be transferred.
Fair use. Referrals must be genuine. We may remove rewards or passes gained through self-referral, duplicate accounts or other misuse.
Your seller balance. Money from a sale is added to your HANGARR balance 3 days after the sale completes. A sale completes when the buyer confirms the item is OK or, if they report no problem, 2 days after delivery. You choose when to withdraw it to your bank, and withdrawals usually arrive within 2 working days.
6. Marketplace delivery and buyer protection
Sellers must use the shipping instructions and prepaid label provided, package the item appropriately, and post it within five days of payment. If tracking does not confirm dispatch after the posting deadline and verification period, we may cancel the order and refund the buyer.
Buyers must provide a complete delivery address or collection-point details. When tracking marks an order delivered, the buyer has two days to report a problem through the order screen or by opening a support ticket. We may hold the seller's payout while we investigate and may require photos, tracking evidence, a return, or other reasonable information. This contractual protection is additional to any statutory rights.
7. Cancellations, returns, and refunds
If a seller is a private individual, the statutory right to change your mind about an online purchase will not normally apply. If the seller is acting as a trader, consumers generally have a 14-day cancellation period after receiving goods, subject to legal exceptions. Faulty, unsafe, counterfeit, or misdescribed items may carry separate rights.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies to a service, it generally runs for 14 days from the contract date. If you ask for work to begin during that period, you may have to pay for work supplied before cancellation; the right can end once the service has been fully performed with the acknowledgements required by law. To cancel or request a return, use the available order or request controls or email info@hangarr.co.uk with the reference number.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing time after we issue a refund is controlled by the payment provider and your bank. Nothing in these terms limits a right to a refund or cancellation that cannot legally be limited.
8. Mending
A Mending request invites repair partners to quote for the work described. A booking is formed when you accept a quote and payment succeeds. The accepted quote records the repair price and estimated turnaround; postage is shown separately. You must describe the item and requested work accurately, pack it securely, and use the supplied shipping method.
Repair work can reveal damage or construction that was not reasonably visible from the request. A partner must use the in-service communication tools to agree any material change to scope, price, or timing. Report a problem within seven days of the item being delivered back to you so we can hold payment while it is reviewed. This does not replace statutory rights relating to services.
9. Reviews, messages, and acceptable use
Reviews and messages must be honest, relevant, and lawful. You must not harass users, manipulate reviews, scrape the service, bypass fees or safety controls, introduce malware, misuse another person's data, or use HANGARR for fraud. We may moderate content and restrict or close accounts where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, investigate misuse, or enforce these terms. We will consider the circumstances and any available appeal unless urgent action is needed.
10. Availability and liability
We aim to keep HANGARR available and accurate, but do not promise uninterrupted access. We are not responsible for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these terms. If you use HANGARR as a consumer, we do not exclude liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or breach of your statutory rights.
HANGARR is not responsible for a user's item or conduct merely because the platform introduced the parties, but this does not affect responsibility for our own acts, payment handling, buyer protection decisions, or duties imposed on us by law.
11. Privacy and changes
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal data and cookies. We may update these terms for legal, security, or service changes. We will publish the new date and give reasonable notice of material changes. Changes will not rewrite a transaction already agreed unless the law requires it or you agree.
12. Law, disputes, and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you keep any mandatory protections and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable law. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a complaint.
